Enologica

Enologica

The history and pride of Emilia Romagna's food and wine at Palazzo Re Enzo. Emblematic figures and typical products, chefs and their performances in the kitchen, wineries and tasting sessions but, most of all, the tale of Emilia Romagna - a region that shaped the history of Italian fine dining.

The tale of a territory's wine and food production

The tale of a territory's wine and food production

A trip along the Via Emilia characterised by high-quality food and wine at Palazzo Re Enzo, in the centre of Bologna, the heart of Emilia-Romagna. An event with an identity focused on the content and experience of producers, artisans, cooks, operators, journalists and simple enthusiasts and with the purpose of conveying the value of an identity, history and tradition that has always been open towards the future and evolution. Proceed along the Via Emilia, walking through over two thousand years of history to discover the identities of nine provinces, each with its own typical products but all characterised by their passion for fine dining which, in the case of Emilia-Romagna, becomes an element that defines an entire community. Here, food and wine continue to maintain an over-hearty convivial flavour without losing its taste for excellence. Through a tale marked by the legs of a journey that sheds light on the protagonists of regional food and wine production, Enologica was developed from the idea of the journalist Giorgio Melandri, who this year has won the support of Emilia Romagna’s Enoteca Regionale.

The spirit of a region

Over 140 regional producers and wineries will fill up the halls at Palazzo Re Enzo. Enologica’s programme will also include “Caravanserraglio” - a space dedicated to debates and reports - and “Il Teatro dei Cuochi”, an area where the public will be able to pair up Emilia Romagna wines with dishes and recipes from some its cuisine’s greatest exponents.  What is more, in addition to the traditional tasting sessions, meetings, debates and show cookings, the “Genius Loci” section will also be inaugurated - an area dedicated to products and raw materials that perfectly represent the identity and culture of Emilia Romagna. This way, the event dedicated to Emilia Romagna wine and typical products becomes a powerful apparatus to charm visitors and take them by the hand while it leads them through the tale of ten figures (one per province plus one for the city of Bologna) that represent the spirit of the region.
