roBOt Festival is an international event created in Bologna in 2008 dedicated to electronic music and visual arts. Each year, the festival includes over one hundred concerts, DJ sets, performances, digital installations, workshops, children’s workshops and screenings. Over the year, many great international artists have attended it such as Nathan Fake, Yann Tiersen, Carl Craig, Apparat and Jon Hopkins.

Accelerate. Plunge into intensity

Designing, organising and promoting digital art and events dedicated to electronic and experimental music following unconventional paths.
An initial intuition that, in over ten years, has managed to turn it into a prestigious event on a European level.
Its heart is in Bologna and its gaze is turned towards the whole world, always searching for ideas and references to re-process. roBOt Festival is the main fruit - albeit not the only one - of a path that creates continuous intersections with communicative processes, the cultural industry, innovation and the capability to relate with the economic and organisational complexities of the modern age.

Digital art and electronic music

Digital art and electronic music

For the past eight years, every autumn Bologna has become the Digital Capital for four days. Now in its eighth edition, this year's roBOt festival will once again welcome renowned internationally famous artists such as Trentemøller, Nina Kraviz, Squarepusher, Tiga and Siriusmodeselektor as well as many Italian artists in the wonderful halls of Palazzo Re Enzo and Bologna Fiere.

Digital art and electronic music are the two main themes of the festival, which has always been characterised by a multi-faceted approach to the world of digital culture, to their relationship with one another and to how the two worlds combine to create a single creature. Workshops, concerts, DJ-sets, VJ-sets. Everything also surrounded by the wonderful setting provided by Palazzo Re Enzo or the Municipal Theatre in Piazza Verdi, or a club with strong historic links to Bologna such as Link, Cassero, Tpo or Kindergarten. The guys at Shape - the organiser - have always wanted to do things well. The constant growth and increasingly-interesting and renowned line-ups have turned Bologna into a focal point thanks to which we can understand where digital art is going, and thus where we are going too.
